Apologies for absense and Komor Kommando - Das EP

Sorry for not posting in a bit, had a financial crisis.

Anywho, I'm back and today we're checking out an effort from Sebastian Komor (Of Zombie Girl and Icon of Coil). This man has talent to spare to say the least and this release definitely shows it. You can get Komor Kommando - Das EP from the Fixt records webstore or from Itunes for pretty cheap and its absolutely worth it.

Nitzer Ebb - Industrial Complex

So, I'm a bit behind on this one, but holy hell its a good one.

One of the pioneers of the EBM genre returned this year with their first studio album in 15 years. And rest assured boys and girls: Nitzer Ebb has certainly not lost their edge. From front to back, this is a great release that holds on the the classic Ebb feeling, but with a modern twist. As I usually try to do, I'll let the music stand on its own:

Peter Christopherson (1955-2010)

Sadly, today I report the death of one of industrial music's founders and an artistic innovator like no other.
Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson passed on in his sleep last night.

RIP Peter, I hope you and John are reunited on the other side.

Unheilig - Grosse Freiheit

Today we look at something a bit more chill than the last couple suggestions.

Unheilig doesn't get a lot of recognition stateside, but they absolutely should. Der Graf's haunting vocals will stir your emotions even if you don't speak German and for those of us that understand what's going on its even more powerful. That's not to say that these guys can't rock when they want to either, their melodic style lends itself well to their heavier entries.
Their newest album, entitled Grosse Freiheit (Great Freedom)is another in a line of awesome releases and I hope further proof that they can keep this up for a long time to come.

Cyanotic - The Medication Generation

Today's recommendation comes to us from Cyanotic and the thundering havoc of their new album: The Medication Generation.  You can probably guess from the title what the lyrical theme is all about. This is an earthshaker of an album filled with quick beats and great guitar hooks layered with the synth sound we all know and love. Here's a taste:

Twilight of the Idols - Needful Things

The name Brendan Evjan may not ring immediate bells with a lot of you, but he's been part of the biz for many years now involved in projects such as Pigface, formate, and now his new project: Twilight of the Idols.
Calling it new is a bit of a falsehood.  This album has been in the works for 8 years now, but out of all that time has come quite a different product than we're used to: two discs worth of a thowback to the days of glam rock and decadence produced by an impressive list of industry names including Chris Vrenna, Duane Baron, and Ken Andrews.
Kicking off with the guitar and breakbeat of Unity Gain the album takes you on a trip of sparkling texture and slick programming with deceptively dark lyrical content that presents a wonderful contrast.  Standouts include the incredibly catchy (just try and get it out of your head) Liquid Platinum, the soulful Slighted (cowritten by the late David Reilly), and the sleazy beats of Body Politic.  Also included is a cover of INXS's need you tonight that is sure to get the fists in the air.
Overall, this is a great release with a sound quite different than what we've been hearing lately. Definitely worth checking out.
